I am so proud of my students and the fantastic job they did singing at WEJ’s Holiday Concert yesterday. The students sounded and looked great! I hope you were all able to make it to the performance. The students were thrilled to see many of you in the audience. I couldn’t be more proud of the children and all of their hard work and dedication to making both songs sound amazing.

Dear Parents,
This is just a reminder that our Winter Concert is fast approaching! Our Winter Concert will be held THIS week- on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the gym. There will be many exciting acts performing including our famous RGC (Recess Guitar Club).
In addition to the wonderful concert, there will be WITS calendars available for purchase. The beautiful photos included in the calendar were produced by our own W. Erskine Johnston students! The cost is $5.00 and they will be available at the door. Please don’t hesitate as there is a limited supply and are sure to sell out quickly!
Hope to see all of you on the 21st! Don’t forget to dress the kiddos in red, green and white!

All student transportation is cancelled today, Monday, December 12th, 2016. This means that buses will not run in the morning or the afternoon. The school remains open.
Please note: If your child normally takes a bus, you may drop him or her off, starting at 9:00 am. If you do so, you must make arrangements to pick him or her up at the end of the day — 3:45 pm — at the back of the school near the portables. We appreciate your assistance in keeping the front of the school and the office clear for urgent matters.
Also, if your child normally takes the school bus and he or she will not be attending, you do not need to notify the office. We only require notification for those students who normally walk to school.
If you must be on the roads today, please drive safely. It is extremely slippery out there!
Today’s scheduled Marble Prize will be postponed until Wednesday, December 14th due to many anticipated student absences.

A huge thank you goes out to the WEJ families who have already given to our charity initiative this year. Your donations are greatly appreciated! If you have not had time to go through your closets to find gently used outerwear or to get out shopping for new scarves, hats, mitts, gloves, snowsuits, coats or snow pants, there is still time. We are taking your donations and gift cards to Walmart, Carter’s or Mark’s Work Wear House up until December 19th. Keep a child warm this winter and please consider the gift of giving.

As you have been previously informed, Wednesday, December 21st at noon in the gymnasium is the WEJ Holiday Concert. Students are being asked to wear red, green and white clothing for the performance. Please ensure that your child comes prepared with the requested coloured clothing. The students are very excited for the big show. Thank you in advance for your assistance! I look forward to seeing you all at the concert in two weeks. Yikes!
